This year's liturgy will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, in St. Francis Xavier College Church.

Classes on the north campus from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. will be canceled to allow students and faculty to attend the liturgical celebration.

Christopher Collins, S.J., assistant to the president for mission and identity, will preside. David Sulwalsky, S.J., will deliver the homily.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a tradition at Jesuit schools and universities throughout the world. These celebrations date back to 1548, when the initial Mass was celebrated at the first Jesuit school in Messina, Sicily.
