Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society Seeks New Board Members

12/01/2019

SLU’s chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society is seeking board members to assist in the selection and induction of eligible students. All committee members must themselves have been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Participation in this committee counts as service to the College of Arts and Sciences. It is also a low time commitment, making it an attractive form of service for assistant professors in particular.

The chapter's work bestows an important recognition on SLU students as they advance in their academic and professional careers.

Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and considered to be the most prestigious honor society of the liberal arts and sciences.

Saint Louis University is one of 283 colleges and universities who have been awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter.  SLU’s Phi Beta Kappa community is made up of all faculty, staff and students who themselves have been inducted into the honor society.

Those interested in serving should contact Bruce O’Neill, Ph.D., or Robert Pampel, Ph.D., for more details.
