February Security Patches Coming Out

All University-managed desktops with Microsoft Windows will receive their February 2019 patches starting on Thursday, Feb. 21.

The patches, from Microsoft, will be deployed to desktops at 7 a.m. on Thursday and will install automatically without user action or pop-up notifications unless patches require closing a specific application. If an application must be closed, users will be prompted to do so before the patch can proceed.

Users will receive a pop-up notification asking them to restart after the patch installation. Users are asked to reboot desktops after receiving the message to ensure the patches apply successfully.
