University Announces Extra Holiday

University President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., has announced an extra holiday for SLU employees on Friday, July 5.

While the University will be closed, SLUCare, it academic medical practice, will be open. July 5 will be a bankable holiday for SLUCare employees.

Pestello announced the holiday in a message to the campus community on Tuesday, June 18, noting that University leaders had decided to make July 4 to 7 a four-day weekend to honor SLU employees’ hard work and commitment to the University.

The holiday comes as SLU was recently recognized as one of Missouri’s top 10 “Places to Work” by Forbes and as 17th-best educational institution in the nation.
