Reinert Center to Host Course Design Institute

03/19/2019

The Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning is currently accepting applications for its first Course Design Institute (CDI) to be held this summer. The Institute is a week-long immersive experience that will spark new ways of thinking about courses, empower instructors to prioritize what matters most to them and create clear learning paths for students.

Faculty who are designing a new course, reimagining an old course or looking for ways to create more engaging, powerful learning experiences should consider applying. Most CDI participants leave with 80 to 90 percent of their courses designed. More than 1,000 faculty members across the country have used their experience in the Course Design Institute to create transformative learning experiences for students.

SLU faculty may apply to the Institute by completing the online application. Applications are due Monday, April 8, and decisions about participation will be made no later than Monday, April 15.

Michael Palmer, Ph.D., professor and director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Virginia, will lead this year’s CDI.

The Institute will be held from June 24 to 28. All participants must attend all sessions.

Seating is limited. For more information and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), click here.
