Internet2 Improvements Set

Information Technology Services (ITS) and its partners will implement changes to increase the capacity of SLU’s Internet2 bandwidth from 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, to 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

The new SLU-dedicated connection will increase the University’s Internet2 bandwidth from 0.5bps to 10Gbps, a significant increase in capacity.

The change was made possible through a renegotiation with the University’s partners that resulted in a significant improvement of the service at no additional cost to SLU. The change allows SLU to better support the needs of the research community and enable improved collaborations with researchers other universities.

The work is part of ITS’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its services.
