SLU Showcases Ways to Give: Labre Ministry

by Jeff Ackels

St. Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry with the Homeless will hold its second Winter Supply Drive to provide clothing and other supplies for the homeless. The drive will run until Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Labre Ministry is fueled by the idea of using food to connect. SLU students come together and cook before going out to share in conversation and a meal with those experiencing homelessness.

Winter supply items, including socks, gloves, scarves, blankets, coats, hats, and Metro bus passes, are appreciated.

Donations bins may be found in Spring Hall, Grand Hall, Griesedieck Hall, Village Apartments, DeMattias Hall and Marguerite Hall.

Donations will also be accepted between 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Campus Ministry and at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 and Dec. 10 in the Sinquefield Stateroom.

As the holiday season approaches, Saint Louis University is highlighting organizations at SLU that could benefit from the gift of time or donations. To suggest a group or organization, contact Jeff Ackels at jeff.ackels@slu.edu.
