Windows Patches Coming Out

Windows patches will be available to all SLU workstations beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The patches will install automatically without any intervention or pop-up notifications to users.

In the event that the installation requires closing of specific applications, such as Word, users will be prompted to close the application before proceeding.

SLU workstation users will receive a popup message once all the patches are installed, requesting that they to restart. The restart is important, and Information Technology Services (ITS) requests that users reboot their machines after receiving the pop-up message in order to ensure the patches are applied successfully.

Once patches are installed, users should check operating functionality on their machines.
