HR Hosting Webinar on Relationship Issues, COVID-19

06/19/2020

The Division of Human Resources will host a webinar “Couples, Parenting, and Intimate Partner Violence During Covid-19, from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24.

About the Webinar

Have you noticed a shift in your relationship with your significant other? Remote work, kids at home, needy pets causing conflict in your former peaceful home?  Wondering what to do next? During this pandemic, constant close contact with your partner can cause a strain on your relationship.

SLU’s Human Resources (HR) team has put together a couples’ forum to explore these questions and related topics.  The forum will discuss how to cope with the stresses on relationships during this unusual time.

Dixie Meyer, Ph.D., will be the webinar’s guest panelist. Meyer is an associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in the Medical Family Therapy Program. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a masters’ degree in marriage and family counseling. She holds a doctorate in counseling. Her primary research interests are attachment, trauma and the manifestation of stress in relationships including couples and families. She is the mother of three children aged seven and under.
