Join the WATER Institute at SLU for Imagine a Day Without Water

10/15/2020

Join the WATER Institute, the Saint Louis University community, and organizations across the country on Oct. 21, as we Imagine a Day Without Water. It’s a day to pause and notice the way that water and our water systems impact our lives and communities, and commit to ensuring a sustainable water future for generations to come.

When you have reliable water service, you don’t have to think twice about the infrastructure that brings water to your home or business, and then safely returns water to the environment – but we all should. On Imagine a Day Without Water, we ask everyone to consider what their day would be like if they couldn’t turn on the tap and get clean drinking water, or if you flushed the toilet and wastewater didn’t go anywhere. What would that day be like?

This year, our country is facing an enormous public health crisis from the coronavirus pandemic. This crisis has demonstrated the critical role that water and wastewater systems play in our communities, protecting public health, safeguarding the environment, and making a healthy economy possible.

What is the value of water in your daily life? Join the WATER Institute and SLU students, staff and faculty in the conversation throughout the day by following the WATER Institute on Twitter and Facebook. Share your own answers to the question on your social media accounts and tag the WATER Institute to participate and enter to win exclusive WATER Institute items!
