University Core Announces Fellows, Future Events

As SLU’s new University Core moves towards Fall 2021 and its pilot semester, the program is sharing some news and announcing some upcoming events.

In March 2021, the Core invited all current undergraduate students to apply to become one of eight inaugural Undergraduate Core Curricular Fellows for the 2021-22 academic year. The Core received more than 50 applications for these positions — a testament to how deeply our undergraduates care about the quality and content of the educational experiences they and their peers engage in here at SLU.

The eight 2021-22 Core Curricular Fellows are:

The Core also is announcing its Core Curricular Innovation Fellowship program, which funds faculty members interested in developing courses for the Core launch year (2022-23). The deadline for applications is May 14, 2021. More information can be found on the application page

The Core also will host two more informational brown bag sessions this spring semester. Both sessions will be held on Zoom from 12:15-1:30 p.m.

The first session, Ignite Seminar Brown Bag, will be Tuesday, May 11. The second session, Fall 2021 Core Pilot Brown Bag, will be Friday, May 14. Both sessions will be virtual and will use the same Zoom link
