Zoom Recordings to Be Removed from Cloud After 180 Days

04/01/2021

Beginning on May 5, Zoom recordings that are 180 days or older will begin to be removed from online storage in the Zoom cloud. This will ensure that there continues to be room for future recordings.

When the policy is set on May 5, users will have 30 days to retrieve any recordings older than 180 days that they would like to keep from their Zoom account. In your Zoom recording tab, you will be able to see when recordings that have been created within the last 180 days will be moved to your trash, and Zoom will send an email seven days prior to a recording being moved to trash.

You will always have 30 days to retrieve any recording that gets moved to trash due to the new 180-day limit and will receive an email 7 days prior to any recording being moved to trash. Panopto, Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive are all options that can be used to store these recordings.

On May 5, all recordings created before Nov. 6, 2020, will be moved to your trash bin and you will have 30 days to download and save these recordings. You may send any questions or concerns to lucas.guffey@health.slu.edu. For assistance with accessing or downloading your recordings within the Zoom portal, please contact ask@slu.edu or call 314.977.4000.
