President Kicks off Year With Selfie Challenge

In a message to students Wednesday, President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D., announced a selfie contest to kick off the fall semester.

The contest was announced in a video message. 

To enter, students must post selfies on Instagram and tag Pestello in them (@SLUPresident). If students are positioned close to others in a selfie, they must wear a mask. Pestello and his wife, Fran Pestello, Ph.D., will pick winners who will earn prizes. 

The selfie challenges are:

• A selfie with a Jesuit
• A selfie with a DPS Officer
• A selfie wearing Billiken gear
• A selfie at an athletics event
• A selfie rubbing the Billiken statue's belly
• A selfie with a new friend met at SLU
• A selfie with a faculty or staff member who means a lot to the student
• A selfie with Pestello

Selfies must be posted by Wednesday, Sept. 8. At least 5 of the challenges must be completed to win a prize.
