An Apple a Day: An Introductory Healthy Culinary Class for Newly Independent Living Students

03/29/2021

Undergraduate students who live independently on or near SLU's north campus can participate in a three-week culinary and nutrition educational class.

Jessica Mueller, a senior undergraduate student studying nutrition and dietetics, has created An Apple a Day, a three-week culinary and nutritional education class which aims to educate undergraduate students on basic culinary techniques as well as increase their overall consumption of healthier foods.

This project is a part of the University Honors Program Investigative Learning Experience projects.

Participants will be able to pick up a meal kit before class time, then join a virtual Zoom session in order to follow along at home while the class instructor leads food demos.

The class will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, starting on April 8 and ending April 22.

The class is free to any qualifying student. Please complete the interest form to participate. The first 20 qualifying students to sign up will be able to participate.
