Nutrition and Dietetics Seeks Volunteers to Work in SLU's Urban Garden

03/29/2021

Looking for a volunteer opportunity in a calm and refreshing environment? Don’t want to travel too far away from Saint Louis University’s campus to get it done? Consider volunteering at SLU’s Garden located between Compton and Rutger Street.

Nutrition and Dietetics will be hosting garden volunteer days from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays through the end of the spring semester. If that does not work, please reach out to Dionne Brown to set up an alternate day/time to volunteer.

If interested, please fill out the Google form with your information and someone will reach out on Wednesdays before Friday gardening to confirm your gardening day. A maximum of 12 participants are allowed for each volunteer day.

In terms of garden attire, prepare to get a a bit dirty. As much as possible, avoid wearing new/costly shoes. On rainy Fridays, you can wear water boots to the Garden if you have a pair, if not, your sneakers will suffice. Some of the main activities done at the garden are planting, pruning, watering, cleaning and harvesting. Garden tools and gloves will be provided.
