ITS Deploying Patches to Windows 10 Workstations

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be deploying patches to all SLU-managed Windows 10 workstations. These updates will include feature enhancements such visual improvements, security patches and application updates. These upgrades will help keep your workstation current in Microsoft’s support life cycle.

Beginning Tuesday, June 1, ITS will begin rolling out a series of upgrades to Windows 10 workstations. When the upgrade is ready to be installed on user's machines, they will be given opportunities over seven days to install the upgrade or snooze it temporarily. If a user has not installed the upgrade by day seven, they will be given a 12-hour window to perform a reboot that will initiate the installation.

If the user does not initiate the install within the 12-hour window, the workstation will automatically reboot at that time to apply the upgrade.

The upgrades will take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete. Anyone with questions, or anyone who has an issue during the upgrade, should contact the service desk at 314-977-4000 or via ask.slu.edu.
