SLU Relay For Life Hosts Virtual Event

05/03/2021

The 2021 Saint Louis University Relay For Life event took place Saturday, April 17. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the event was held online. Despite difficulties hosting the event on a virtual platform, nearly 600 student participants were able to to raise more than $72,000 for the American Cancer Society of St. Louis.

Participants had the opportunity to participate in a variety of virtual events including: trivia rounds, decorating virtual luminaria candles to honor or remember loved ones who have battled cancer, and several performances from various SLU student groups.

Participants also were able to hear talks from a variety of cancer survivors as well as leaders at the American Cancer Society to learn more about the impact that their dollars would have.

"We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in our event this year, and hope to see you again next year in person," said Angie Urtis, senior and Relay For Life Co-Chair.
