Windows Patches Available to Workstations Starting May 25

Windows patches will be available to all SLU workstations beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 25. The patches will install automatically without any intervention or pop-up notifications to users.

In the event that the installation requires closing of specific applications, such as Word needing to be closed, users will be prompted to close the application before proceeding.

SLU workstation users will receive a pop-up message once all the patches are installed, requesting a restart. This restart is highly important. Machines needed to be rebooted after receiving the pop-up message in order to ensure the patches are applied successfully.

Once patches are installed, users are instructed to check operating functionality on their machine. If patches fail to install or have other queries, users should contact the Service Desk at 314-977-4000 or via ask.slu.edu.
