Anti-Racist Socialization Webinar Will Be September 28

09/21/2021

An anti-racist socialization webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Broderick Sawyer, Ph.D.,  will outline the historical roots of racism, from slavery, through Jim Crow, the Civil Rights movement, to current police violence, and identify the many ways people are socialized into racially-biased attitudes and behaviors. He will use this information as a basis for helping us understand how people can counter racist narratives and conditioning and engage in anti-racist behaviors.

Sawyer is a clinical psychologist with expertise in race-based stress and trauma, diversity and inclusion, and mindfulness.
