Billiken Bounty Reopens for Fall Semester

09/01/2021

Billiken Bounty, Saint Louis University's food pantry, will return to its in-person shopping model starting on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Billiken Bounty

The food pantry used an appointment-only system during the 2020-21 school year.

Billiken Bounty is a safe place for SLU students to obtain groceries, hygiene and self-care products. Shoppers don’t have to demonstrate need and can come and go anonymously because food insecurity can be momentary or long-term. All that is required to access Billiken Bounty is a SLU photo ID.

Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 7, Billiken Bounty will be open and staffed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 12-4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, in its location in Busch Student Center Room 311. Billiken Bounty will be closed on University holidays throughout the semester.

Students who need assistance outside of regular hours can contact the Department of Public Safety for assistance.

There are shopping baskets available or clients may bring their own reusable Billiken Bounty bag.

Those interested in volunteering with Billiken Bounty can contact billikenbounty@slu.edu for more details.

In fall of 2020, the food pantry filled more than 100 client orders and distributed 2,300 pantry items.
