Interfraternity Council Raises More Than $8,000 for Men's Health

12/07/2022

Over the past month, members of the Interfraternity Community have been participating in a mustache-growing competition to raise awareness for men's health.

This is the third annual mustache-growing competition at Saint Louis University, and the IFC fraternities raised a total of $8,094 to help support Movember. Movember is an organization focused on educating and providing funds for men's health. They fund groundbreaking focus areas worldwide, including mental health/suicide prevention, prostate/testicular cancer, and overall well-being.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the local governing body for the National Interfraternity Conference fraternity chapters at Saint Louis University. This council comprises Alpha Delta Gamma, Alpha Iota Omicron, Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Chi, Sigma Tau Gamma, and Tau Kappa Epsilon.

IFC works to promote the highest ideals of scholarship, leadership, service, and fraternalism among its member organizations.

The Movember fundraiser started in 2020 when the group raised $1,000. In 2021, IFC raised $2,500. The community was hoping to raise $3,000 this year but worked hard to promote this cause and brought in a record-breaking number for this fundraising event.
