Call-In Advocacy Day Supporting Iranian Protests Will Be November 30

The Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship and the Center for Social Action will be hosting a call-in advocacy day on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Center for Global Citizenship.

Members of the the SLU community will have the opportunity to call and write letters to Congress representatives encouraging them to pass House Concurrent Resolution 110 & Senate Concurrent Resolution 47. Both measures commends the Iranian people fighting for justice and democracy while speaking out against human rights violations during current protesting in Iran.

There has been an ongoing series of protests and civil unrest in Iran since September 2022 in reaction to the death of Masha Amini, a young women who died under custody of police after being arrested for wearing an improper hijab.

Engage in social action in alignment with the Jesuit mission of being people for and with others and help amplify the voices of the oppressed.
