SLU Taekwondo Win Medals at the 2022 Midwest Open Taekwondo Championship

The SLU Taekwondo club brought home a total of nine medals from the 2022 Midwest Open Taekwondo Championships, held this weekend in Decatur, IL. This was the club’s first ever university-sponsored competition since its formation in 2019.

Six club members competed in their respective Olympic-style sparring (kyorugi) and forms (poomsae) divisions, all in the 17-32 age bracket.

Donovan Thomas - 3rd place, lightweight sparring
Terrell Earl - 1st place, heavyweight sparring
Keegan Buckthorpe - 3rd place, heavyweight sparring; 3rd place, forms
