Internationally Acclaimed Pianist in Concert November 10

The Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Saint Louis University presents internationally acclaimed Armenian-American pianist Kariné Poghosyan in a solo concert featuring the music of Franz Liszt, Manuel DeFalla and Aram Khachaturian on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier College Church.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Poghosyan will perform Hungarian Rhapsody No. 7 and Rhapsodie Espagnole by Liszt, Serenata Andaluza and Ritual Firedance by DeFalla, and Adagio from the ballet Spartacus and Piano Sonata by Khachaturian.

An award-winning Armenian-American pianist, Poghosyan has been praised on the world stage for her “ability to get to the heart of the works she performs.” Since her orchestral debut at the age of fourteen, Poghosyan has been performing for concert audiences around the globe.

Poghosyan's most recent concerts include two sold-out recitals at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, the second of which was a CD Release concert of her “Rachmaninoff and Stravinsky” recording on Centaur Records. 

Poghosyan has recently been signed by Navona Records of Parma Recordings to record her next album of works by Grieg, Coleridge Taylor, and Liszt.
