SLU Researchers, Scholars Honored at Reception

The inaugural class of SLU Research Institute fellows and the 2022 Scholarly Works Awards recipients were honored Wednesday afternoon in a joint ceremony. 

Saint Louis University’s top scholars and researchers gathered in the Sinquefield Stateroom to recognize their achievements. The initial cohort of Fellows were named and saluted.

“Thank you for doing the great work that you do in day in and day out,” SLU President Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D. said. “Thank you for the work you do with your students, the work you do in your various disciplines. … I’m very appreciative and I can assure you the board is appreciative of the strides we have made as an institution, particularly in the area of research. Congratulations to all of you.” 

SLU researchers are named Fellows in recognition of scholarly accomplishments at the very highest level of their fields. The first cohort of Fellows was appointed for three-year, renewable terms, and new Fellows will be appointed annually.

The ceremony also included the named of the recipients of the 2022 Scholarly Works Awards, which recognizes success in publications and pieces from the previous year.
