Duquesne University, A-10 Commission to Host Black History Month Event Feb. 23

Duquesne University and the A-10 Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity & Inclusion will host a webinar on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., featuring Claude Johnson, author of The Black Fives: The Epic Story of Basketball’s Forgotten Era

Students, faculty, staff and alumni across all 15 A-10 institutions are encouraged to attend this special event in honor of Black History Month. The program will feature a fascinating and informative conversation about African American basketball teams – both men’s and women’s – and the pioneer Black athletes who defined the game prior to the formation of the NBA.

The program will be broadcast live and moderated by Commission co-chairs Duquesne University President Ken Gormley and La Salle University Athletic Director Brian Baptiste. Register to attend the event here
