SLU Visual and Performing Arts Annual Dance Festival Starts Friday

The Visual and Performing Arts program's annual SLU Dance Festival will be Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, at the Main Stage Theatre in Xavier Hall. Each show features a different student dance group.
Admission is free and open to the public. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance.

XQuizit (XQ) is Saint Louis University’s only premier Urban Dance Crew. This group has performed at various events around campus and in competitions in the Midwest. They also host an annual showcase during the Spring Semester.
Shakti is Saint Louis University’s premier nationally competing Bollywood Fusion dance team of Saint Louis University. It was formed in 2011 by a group of students to preserve and promote South Asian culture while integrating cultures from around the world.
Phases of Motion is a student-led performance dance company on campus. The group performs jazz, contemporary, modern, tap and more. The group choreographs all of their own dances for their showcases, and performs at various events on campus throughout the year.
SLU Omkara is the first dance team on SLU’s campus to preserve the tradition of classical Indian dance. It was started in 2016 and has been growing ever since. The team combines modern themes within classical dance to show how an Indian art form can be turned into something every person can relate to.
The mission of Elevation Irish Dance Team is to enrich the SLU community with a sense of Irish culture through performing at fellow student organizations’ events, hosting an annual showcase, and teaching free beginner level classes.
