Campus Visit Programs Launch Homecoming Weekend

09/18/2023

The Saint Louis University Office of Admission is hosting six campus visit programs this fall.

All programs include an admission presentation (which talks about academics and opportunities at SLU, outlines the steps to the admission and application process, and provides information on scholarships and the Billiken Promise) and the campus tour.

As part of Homecoming activities, the office of admission is offering a special visit for children and grandchildren of alumni this Friday, Sept. 22, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the New Student Visit Center. Registration is still open.

Next up will be Preview Day. This event is an open house event with an academic and information fair featuring all undergraduate programs and student support departments. Students also can complete their admission interview on Preview Day. They will be held on Monday, Oct. 9, and Friday, Nov. 10.

Students who register for Preview Day will also have the opportunity to come to campus the night before (Sunday, Oct. 8, or Thursday, Nov. 9) for “SLU by Starlight.” This exclusive visit will feature a tour of Grand Hall, Spring Hall, Griesedieck Complex, and Fusz Hall during evening hours so they can see what life is like for a Billiken in the evenings. Parents are not invited to attend since the visit will go into our current students’ rooms, but they will be able to see rooms the next day during Preview Day.

The Office of Admission also is offering a Health Careers Visit Day. Students interested in a future as an MD, nurse, physical therapist, and more will have the opportunity to see classroom and lab space on both campuses and meet faculty, current students, and alumni from these programs. The Health Careers Visit Days are Saturday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 4. Space is limited for this event.

A more personalized visit option is called the Billiken for a Day. During Billiken for a Day, up to 20 prospective students will be paired with a Billiken Buddy (current freshman or sophomore student). They can stay overnight in a residence hall, go to class, meet with a faculty member from their area of interest, and, of course, attend the admission presentation and campus tour.

If the student is interested in applying for fall 2024, they can also do their admission interview while they’re here on campus. The dates for Billiken for a Day are Friday, Oct. 6, Friday, Oct. 13, Monday, Oct. 23, Monday, Nov. 6, Sunday, Nov. 12, and Friday, Nov. 17.

The Office of Admission provides a wide variety of campus visit options for prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and more. To learn more about these visits and to learn more about the Office of Admission’s programs, the University community can visit the Campus Visit website or attend a webinar at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27.  To attend, register for the webinar.
