SLU Chess Team Member Batsuren Dambasuren Wins Spring Chess Classic

Grandmaster Batsuren Dambasuren, a member of the SLU Chess A Team, won the Spring Chess Classic B-group.

Dambasuren picked up 7 points out of 9 possible points and finished  1.5 points ahead nearest competitor. 

"This is a fantastic accomplishment by Batsuren," said SLU Chess Coach Varuzhan Akobian. "This is one of the biggest victories in his career so far. He also increased his international rating by 20 points, which is remarkable." 

The Spring Classic 2024 took place at the Saint Louis Chess Club from April 11 to Aril 20. The Classic featured two 10-player Round Robin tournaments.
