University Observes Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the Roman Catholic Church, a season of renewal and a time when the SLU community is invited to deepen and strengthen its relationship with God in an intentional way.

To mark the beginning of Lent, a number of Masses were held throughout the day across the Saint Louis University campus.

Ash Wednesday 2025 Schedule

Ash Wednesday takes place on Wednesday, March 5.  Masses will take place at the Law School, South Campus, and North Campus.  

• 7:15 a.m. — St. Francis Xavier College Church
• 8:15 a.m. — School of Medical Chapel - Schwitalla Hall, 2nd Floor
• Noon — St. Francis Xavier College Church
• 12:05 p.m. — Allied Health Multipurpose Room - Doisy, 3rd Floor
• 12:15 p.m. — Law School Chapel - Scott Hall 7th Floor
• 3:00 p.m. — Jesuit Center Chapel - Mass in Spanish
• 5:15 p.m. — St. Francis Xavier College Church
• 8 p.m. — St. Francis Xavier College Church (Confessions at 7 p.m.)
