Guest Speaker to Lead Discussion About Bringing Global Perspectives Into Classrooms

Jennifer Powers, Ph.D., Department of Plant and Microbiology at the University of Minnesota, will lead SLU faculty members in a discussion about bringing global perspectives into the STEM classroom and undergraduate research.

The event will take place from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Busch Student Center Room 254. A Zoom option also will be available. 

Powers brings decades of experience as an ecologist working in countries across the world. In this session, she will discuss the intersection of science, research, and teaching in higher education from a globalized perspective.

This event is hosted by the Core to raise awareness of one of SLU’s graduation-level learning outcomes, Student Learning Outcome No. 6 — Global Interdependence.
