Artist Talk with Photographer and Filmmaker Alexandra Gavillet Is January 29

Join the Visual and Performing Arts Department for the Kristen Peterson Distinguished Lecture in Art and Art History artist talk featuring photographer and filmmaker Alexandra Gavillet.
The artist talk will take place on Monday, Jan. 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in Xavier Hall 116.
Gavillet is a multi-hyphenate visual artist whose commercial and editorial photography is seen in Vogue, The Hollywood Reporter, Complex, Billboard, Fader, GQ, and Spin. As a commercial filmmaker, her clients include Suave (Barbie campaign), Lululemon, HBO Max, Nike, Converse, Reebok, Vogue, Amazon, and Jose Cuervo.
The ever-growing list of actors, musicians, and superstar personalities she has filmed and photographed includes Billie Eilish, Victoria Beckham, Emily Ratajkowski, Chloë Grace Moretz, Kendall Jenner, Millie Bobby Brown, Usher, Blackpink, and Dua Lipa. A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Gavillet looks forward to venturing into directing narrative film. Originally from the Midwest, she currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
The Kristen Peterson Distinguished Lecture in Art and Art History is presented by the Art History Program of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Saint Louis University with support from the Peterson Lecture Fund.
