SLU Community Invited to the 2024 Easter Egg Hunt

03/05/2024

With 10,000 eggs, 2,000 people of all ages, one Easter Bunny and one Billiken gearing up to kick off spring, Saint Louis University is preparing to roll out its most colorful seasonal event for alumni and their families: the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23.

The family-friendly event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside at Tegeler Field. Three egg hunts based on age groups (1-2 years, 3-6 years, 7-10 years) will have staggered start times, with the first starting at 11:30 a.m. Activities for children will include face painting, crafts, inflatables, a bubble bus and more. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The WATER Institute Hydraulics Lab, exploring river formation processes and engineering technologies, will also be open in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (ISE 001).

An Easter tradition for many attendees, the event gives alums and their families a chance to enjoy the hunt and all the extras that come with it. For the children of Rob (A&S ’08, Education ’15) and Alex (DCHS ’09, DPT ’11) Curtin, that means stickers, stickers and more stickers.

“Our kids (ages 6 and 3) are obsessed with stickers, so they loved getting them in their eggs,” Rob Curtain said. “They also love doing the crafts.”

As the director of development for SLU’s medical center campus, Rob Curtin said he appreciates how much thought goes into the event.

“The Easter Egg Hunt is a great time to have our kids on campus, and we often run into old classmates who are there with their families,” he said. “It’s like a mini-reunion. We wouldn’t miss it for anything!”
