SLU Receives 2023 CPN Seal of Prevention Award

Accolade Acknowledges SLU’s Commitment to Investing in Student Wellbeing and Safety
Saint Louis University has been named a recipient of the 2023 Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention.
Presented by Vector Solutions, the CPN Seal of Prevention is awarded to institutions of higher education that have demonstrated leadership in digital prevention programming focused on student safety, well-being, and inclusion.
To obtain the seal, SLU has shown that it has taken action to create a safer, more inclusive campus through comprehensive, evidence-based digital prevention education on issues such as sexual assault, alcohol misuse, mental health, and discrimination.
“Being part of the Campus Prevention Network allows us to provide online learning opportunities as part of our overall health education and prevention efforts. The topics that are covered — health, safety, and well-being — support our entire SLU community,” said Eric Anderson, assistant vice president for student well-being. “For example, we have connected our mental well-being module to our Cura Personalis 1 curriculum so that students view the module and then have in-class discussions about campus resources and how they can develop skills to support the emotional well-being of themselves and others.”
SLU has partnered with Vector Solutions to offer training modules to students. Vector Solutions, Higher Education is the industry leader in postsecondary safety and prevention training, serving more than 2,000 of the nation’s most widely recognized and prestigious institutions and organizations for more than 20 years.
The CPN Seal of Prevention establishes guidelines for discerning quality online prevention education and implementation practices and positions prevention as central to key institutional outcomes. By earning this seal, SLU joins the top 10% of colleges and universities nationwide recognized for their dedication to fostering a culture of prevention and well-being among students.
