New Writing Retreats Series for Faculty and Graduate Students Launching

This year, the Department of Theology and the Division for Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement (DICE) are teaming up to bring SLU's Scriptorium.

Sessions are held most Fridays and select Tuesdays from 9 a.m to 2:30 p.m. Participants can attend all or part of a session. A full schedule is available online. 

SLU's Scriptorium initiative provides a pro-social and productive research environment like scriptoria of the past where scribes gathered to compose, transcribe, recite, and even pray the texts over which they labored. Work in a scriptorium mixes quiet scholarship with times to share and discuss ideas.
 
Scriptorium is open to all SLU-affiliated researchers (faculty and graduate students) and aims to help them advance writing projects of all kinds by offering a dedicated time, quiet space, supportive scholarly community, and modest sustenance.

Coffee, bagels, and schmeer provided.
