Auditions and technical interviews for the Fall 2025 productions of Macbeth and Immediate Theatre take place August 20-21 on the ground floor of Xavier Hall. The entire SLU community is invited to take part - you do not have to be a major or minor to get involved!

"Macbeth" is Shakespeare's classic exploration of the corrupting influence of unchecked power, and the stories we tell ourselves to justify our ambitions. It is the story of one man and a small group of enablers who seize a kingdom and impose an oppressive and violent rule. More than any of this, though, it is the story of the small group of determined and heroic people who come together to stop him. A dark, exciting, supernatural ride of a play, full of sound and fury.

Directed by Professor Nancy Bell, Macbeth runs Oct. -5, 2025 in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.

"Immediate Theatre" is a production of several short plays, each directed by an emerging artist in the SLU Theatre and Dance Program. It is the culmination of the Program’s advanced directing course. Under the mentorship of the faculty and staff, each advanced directing student selects, casts, and stages an entire play. The students engage with a full production team and with one another to present their fully realized works in repertory within a single production. The result is daring, exuberant, and collaborative. T

he overall production is led by Associate Professor Lucy Cashion and runs Nov. 13-16 in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.
