5th Annual Education for Flourishing Conference Scheduled for September 5

The Saint Louis University Consortium for Human Flourishing will hold its 5th annual Education for Flourishing Conference on Friday, Sept. 5. This year's theme is Youth Flourishing: Listening to Youth Voices.
A global youth flourishing network will be launched at the conference.
The Youth Flourishing Network is a global initiative to support and promote youth flourishing. The network offers the Youth Flourishing Leadership Academy, opportunities for cross cultural travel and participation in global projects for flourishing. Youth will also have the opportunity to gain research experience by being part of a global research team.
Conference topics include meaning and purpose; connectedness to self, others, and the world at large; and courage and hope. The conference is open to the public. A full agenda will be finalized ahead of the conference.
Speakers include:
- Ansley Kendall, program director, Spirituality Initiative, Youth Flourishing Network
- Maria M. Barreneche, Ph.D., youth advocacy and well-being specialist, United Nations Youth Office
- Matthew Lee, Ph.D., professor, Baylor University and director of the Flourishing Network-Human Flourishing Program, Harvard University
- Sydney Williams, program director, Research Initiative, Youth Flourishing Network

- When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5. Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m.
- Where: SLU's DuBourg Hall, Room 240, Pere-Marquette Gallery, 221 N Grand Blvd.
- Cost: $100. Free for SLU students.
