Blue Santa is Coming to Town

Blue Santa is returning to SLU. The Center for Social Action invites University departments, faculty, staff, and students to participate in this year's holiday drive by donating gifts or contributing virtually.

Blue Santa, a relative of St. Nick, spends his time collecting gifts donated by SLU staff, faculty and students in the weeks leading up to the holiday to help make the season more joyful for kids across St. Louis.

Departments and student clubs are encouraged organize a drive within their own unit, then bring the items to Blue Santa on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, in the Center for Global Citizenship Lobby anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Hot cocoa and cookies will be available, as well as the opportunity to snap a pic with Blue Santa.

The Center for Social Action has compiled a list of items to donate.  All collected or purchased items will be distributed through our partnering nonprofit organizations, including Community Women Against Hardship, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and LifeWise STL, among others.

Members of the SLU community may also donate to Blue Santa through giving online by selecting the "Center for Social Action" option. Virtual contributions will be used to purchase toys.

Donations can also be dropped off anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Center for Social Action office (Center for Global Citizenship Suite 134) starting Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
