Applications Open for OVPR Competitive Awards
Saint Louis University’s internal awards program application window has officially launched. These internal awards are designed to foster research and scholarly activities, stimulate the quest for external support, and promote SLU as a strong R1 research institution.
As a reminder, SLU's internal award program opportunities are:
- Health Research Grant Program: Encourages collaborative groups of interdisciplinary health researchers across at least two or more academic units to conceptualize a larger future grant application for external funding.
- Beaumont Scholarship Research Program: Encourages faculty researchers working in the arts, humanities and social sciences to further and/or complete scholarly research projects while conceptualizing and preparing applications for external funding.
- President's Research Fund: Offers support for promising projects with strong potential to secure external funding. The President’s Research Fund has two tracks, one for medical school faculty and one for non-medical school faculty.
OVPR will begin accepting applications in the OpenWater portal through Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
Visit the OVPR website to learn more about the specific internal awards program opportunities, the process for submitting proposals, and the criteria used by the reviewers for evaluating proposals. The website will be updated soon to reflect new programs from the School of Medicine.
