PASE Debuts New Workshop

Practical Anatomy and Surgical Education (PASE) launched a brand-new offering: Surgical Techniques & Management of Laryngeal Disorders: A Hands-on Cadaver Workshop for Residents. This inaugural course was developed and led by Christopher Rayle, M.D., assistant professor of otolaryngology.

Designed to provide a focused, anatomy-driven learning experience, the course guided otolaryngology residents through the evaluation, surgical management, and advanced techniques involved in treating a broad range of laryngeal disorders. We welcomed 19 trainees from five different programs, with participants traveling from as far as Iowa and South Carolina to attend this first-time offering.

Throughout the day, residents worked closely with Rayle and SLU's expert faculty as they explored key anatomical structures, practiced operative approaches, and discussed clinical decision-making in real-world scenarios. The hands-on dissections provided an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of laryngeal function and pathology while strengthening the surgical skills required in the operating room.

As the final workshop of the year, this new course served as a capstone to another season of education at PASE.
