SLU Honors Employees at Annual Presidential Service Awards

Saint Louis University celebrated its long-time employees at a breakfast ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 19,  in the Wool Ballrooms at the Busch Student Center. At the ceremony, SLU saluted employees who have been with the University for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years.

SLU President Edward Feser, Ph.D., was attending his first service awards ceremony after joining the university in July. Feser noted that the combined years of service for the people being recognized were over 5,000 years, while he had just shy of 150 days at SLU. 

“You have supported the learning and growth of students, advanced knowledge in countless fields, nurtured the beauty of our campus and facilities, provided compassionate care to the community, and kept all of the systems and processes of a complex university running,” he said. “Because of you, SLU has thrived.” 

The event also featured remarks from James Fisher, Ph.D., professor of marketing; LaToya Sims, assistant supervisor of custodial services; and Leslie McCloskey, M.D., associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health. The three shared stories about their experiences at SLU and what their jobs have meant to them.
