Callon Receives Top SAC Honor
The Staff Advisory Committee has named Maggie Callon as the 2025 Joyce Huelsmann Outstanding SAC Member Award winner.

Callon, the undergraduate programs manager in the College for Public Health and Social Justice, earned the award that recognizes a member of the Staff Advisory Committee who has best exhibited the qualities necessary for the type of leadership, service and positive spirit that were a hallmark of Joyce Huelsmann and her involvement at Saint Louis University, and more specifically, the Staff Advisory Committee. Huelsmann was a founding member of SAC and worked at SLU from 1963-2010.
The award was presented by President Edward Feser, Ph.D., at the Oct. 16 SAC meeting. Feser noted Callon was being recognized for the “high moral standards, strong work ethic, and personal commitment to leadership through example, integrity, compassion, and respect for all [that] continue to be a cornerstone of the Staff Advisory Committee.” He also acknowledged Callon's exemplary service to her college, the university, her parish, and the local community.
Nominators praised Callon for her work and positive attitude.
“Maggie serves on several committees across campus and always goes above and beyond to serve Saint Louis University, her co-workers, and students,” a nominator wrote. “She does so with empathy and integrity in addition to inspiring others to be their best. She is compassionate and demonstrates a positive can-do spirit that is reflective of the mission of the University. Maggie cultivates relationships across campus that strengthen our SLU community and improve our workplace.”
Another nominator praised Callon for her dedication to SLU.
“Her work at the university is not just a job, but a vocation,” the nominator wrote.
