Scriptorium Writing Retreats Continue
Scriptorium continues with weekly writing retreat offerings on the north and south campuses this October and November. Sessions are held most Fridays and select Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Participants can attend all or part of a session. A full schedule is available online.
SLU's Scriptorium initiative provides a pro-social and productive research environment
like scriptoria of the past where scribes gathered to compose, transcribe, recite,
and even pray the texts over which they labored. Work in a scriptorium mixes quiet
scholarship with times to share and discuss ideas.
Scriptorium is open to all SLU-affiliated researchers (faculty and graduate students)
and aims to help them advance writing projects of all kinds by offering a dedicated
time, quiet space, supportive scholarly community, and modest sustenance.
Coffee, bagels, and schmeer provided.
SLU's Scriptorium writing retreats are a collaboration between Department of Theology and the Division for Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement (DICE). Funding was provided by the College of Arts and Sciences Stoll Fund and DICE.
