Saint Louis University is recognized as one of the nation’s top colleges for community service engagement and meaningful impact. Students, faculty and staff members cumulatively complete 1.6 million hours of service each year.

The Community Engagement Fair is hosted by the Division of Diversity and Innovative Engagement, led by the Center for Social Action (CSA). Last year, more than half of first year students shared that community service played a huge role in their success as a student. As SLU’s matchmakers for community service, this event is one way CSA supports students, staff, and faculty committed to living out the mission to serve the greater good.

SLU first earned the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement in 2015, the prestigious distinction highlighting the importance community engagement across the institution. DICE led the reclassification effort in 2024, assuring that SLU will hold this honor until 2032 along with 368 campuses nationwide.
