Truman Scholarship Competition Opens

The application window for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship for young Americans who are making a difference and becoming part of the future of public service leadership is now open. Current juniors in any field may submit an application.

Each campus can nominate four students to the national competition. To facilitate our campus review, the campus deadline for consideration for a SLU endorsement is Monday, Dec. 1. In order to be considered, applicants must start an application on the Truman website. SLU’s Office of Competitive Scholarship and Fellowship Advising will open advising hours for Truman in October.

The Harry S. Truman Foundation will host an Open House sessions specifically for students on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. Additional webinars for candidates will be offered in November and December.

The Office of Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships will host a virtual information session with a SLU Goldwater recipient on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

Students who would like access to the information session links or additional directions for advising should join the Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships Canvas page

Faculty and staff who are interested in supporting SLU’s application process can fill out this interest form or email rebecca.muich@slu.edu
