Emerson Leadership Institute Presents Dignity-Based Teaching Workshop for Executive Education
To launch the 2025–2026 academic year, the Emerson Leadership Institute presents a dynamic, full-day, hands-on teaching workshop designed to elevate impact in the executive classroom. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, in room L30 of the Chaifetz School of Business.
Grounded in a mission-focused, student-centered, and research-driven approach, this immersive program will equip attendees with practical strategies for teaching excellence—tools that also translate into powerful learning outcomes at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The workshop is co-hosted by the Chaifetz School of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing, and School of Law and facilitated by Edward Jones Dean Jackson Nickerson, Ph.D.
This program will features a Deans’ Panel with Donna LaVoie, Ph.D. (Arts and Sciences), Kris L’Ecuyer, Ph.D. (Nursing), Twinette Johnson, J.D., Ph.D. (Law, and Nickerson, who will share insights and inspiration for transformative teaching.
This workshop has been pre-approved for one substitute credit toward either the Foundations or Principles Certificate in University Teaching Skills, offered through the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning. Participants must follow the standard substitute credit procedures to earn the credit.
