Fraternity and Sorority Life Celebrates Unity Week 2026
At the end of March, SLU's Fraternity and Sorority Life celebrated Unity Week, a program to promote connection through volunteerism, philanthropy, and good-spirited competition.
Notable events included a trivia night, dodgeball tournament, cardboard boat race in Simon Recreation Center, and an awards gala.
KidSmart STL was selected as the philanthropic partner for Unity Week 2026 because of its meaningful impact on children and classrooms throughout the St. Louis community. KidSmart STL works to ensure teachers and students have access to essential school supplies and educational resources that support more equitable opportunities for learning and success.
In total the community raised more than $1,500 for KidSmart STL, donated 2,247 clothing items to the Women’s Safe House and Panhellenic Recruitment Closet, donated 2,139 food items to Billiken Bounty, donated 486 school supplies to KidSmart STL, and served more than 80 hours onsite with KidSmart STL.
Chapters that earned distinctions for their work in the 2025 calendar year were announced at the final Unity Week event, the Awards Gala. They were:
- Excellence in Educational Programming - Kappa Delta
- Excellence in Belonging - Delta Gamma
- Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Phi Mu and Zeta Tau Alpha
- Excellence in Harm Reduction and Risk Management - Kappa Alpha Theta
- Excellence in Chapter Management - Alpha Delta Pi and Phi Mu
- Excellence in Campus Involvement - Sigma Chi and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
- Excellence in Community Service - Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Tau Alpha
- Excellence in Financial Management - Beta Theta Pi and Delta Gamma
- Excellence in Scholarship - Zeta Tau Alpha
- Chapter of the Year - Alpha Delta Pi and Zeta Tau Alpha
