SLU Libraries to Replace Regional Resource Borrowing with Interlibrary Loan Services
Saint Louis University Libraries will expand interlibrary loan services on Friday, May 1, to cover all requests for materials from libraries outside of SLU, replacing its resource-sharing agreement MOBIUS, a regional library consortium.
SLU library users are currently able to request books and other materials from other libraries in the region through a shared catalog administered by MOBIUS. While users will still have access to the same materials, all requests for materials from non-SLU libraries will go through one system managed by the SLU interlibrary loan coordinators.
Existing access to materials from libraries outside the MOBIUS consortium via interlibrary loan will not change. The change also has no effect on due dates for items currently checked out. SLU users with MOBIUS materials due back after May 1 may keep their items until the listed due date.
Under a new agreement between SLU and MOBIUS, SLU users will still have access to electronic resources through MOBIUS, such as Libby, and SLU will remain part of the MOBIUS courier network, ensuring materials will still arrive promptly.
The last day SLU users will be able to request materials through the MOBIUS catalog is Thursday, April 30. At that point, library users should follow the instructions on the SLU Interlibrary Loan website to make an account on ILLiad, the platform SLU uses to manage interlibrary loan and document delivery requests.
