Mission and Identity Book Club to Feature Jesuit Astronomer

This fall, the Division for Mission and Identity book club will feature A Jesuit’s Guide to the Stars by Br. Guy Consolmagno, SJ, Director Emeritus of the Vatican Observatory and President of the Vatican Observatory Foundation.

The book club will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5,  on Zoom and will conclude on Thursday, Nov. 19, in Boileau Hall from noon to 1:30 p.m. with a Zoom conversation with Br. Guy.

Brought to life with more than 70 stunning images of the cosmos, Br. Guy’s book seamlessly integrates his studies and knowledge as a scientist with his personal journey as a man of faith. His uniquely inspiring story connects the heavens to the earth, the past to the present, and faith to science.

Whether you are a curious stargazer, an amateur astronomer, or someone seeking meaning in a universe that can seem impersonal, A Jesuit's Guide to the Stars will show you that the cosmos is a beautiful subject to contemplate and a joyful way to find God.
