Movie Crews Scheduled to Film on SLU's Campus
The week of Aug. 24, a movie production crew will film scenes on the Saint Louis University campus for a motion picture, The Streak, which is based on the Caltech basketball team breaking a historic losing streak in 2011.
Crews are scheduled to film outdoors on campus Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 26 through 28.
On Wednesday, filming is scheduled to take place in the area around the Sinquefield Center for Science and Engineering and Busch Student Center.
On Thursday, the filming locations are near Cook Hall, Samuel Cupples House, Pius XII Memorial Library and and DuBourg Hall.
Finally, on Friday, campus filming will wrap up behind Busch Student Center.
Members of the SLU community are to be advised that there could be delays and detours when traveling around campus while crews are filming the outdoor scenes Wednesday through Friday.
Crews are expected to film for the majority of each day.
In addition, the movie production company is seeking volunteers to appear in key film scenes.
Since The Streak is a basketball movie, the production needs basketball fans for game scenes. St Louisans can get in on the filmmaking action as volunteer basketball fans. There will be prizes, professional comedians to entertain fans in between takes, and a chance to be a part of movie magic, while watching the Caltech Beavers’ inspirational fight to break their 30-year losing streak.
All volunteer basketball fans must be age 18 years or older and commit to a five-hour filming window on these specific dates: Sept. 1, Sept. 8, Sept. 17, Sept. 22, Sept. 23 and Sept. 24.
